I love creating
costumes and other fun things for babies and toddlers, but that is not how my
sewing journey started…
See, even though I got a degree in fashion and textiles, apparel wasn't my main interest. At school I actually detested spending so much time sewing little details. So -after a few detours- I turned to home fashions. I spent many years making, studying, perfecting my craft in window treatments, bedding, slipcovers and all kind of home accessories. It was exciting to create large challenging projects. Still, something was missing...

Then, I had a baby...
So in 2012 I closed my busy shop and started selling online at a much slower pace. In between orders I started making things for my girl, mostly things I couldn't find anywhere... not the way I wanted them anyway.
and then...
sewing started to feel like FUN again! Like when grandma taught me how to sew at age 6 or 7...
at that age I didn't want to learn how to sew perfectly stitched pieces with couture techniques, I just wanted to make stuff: clothes for my dolls, furnishings for the doll house dad made me, costumes...oh the costumes! I always had a natural ability to watch someone making something or study a piece and figure out how to do it my way, like seeing blueprints in the air or something, and then step by step watch the vision come to life.![]() |

It is now my mission to continue using my training and experience to create step by step, easy to follow patterns and tutorials so other moms can sew this fun pieces too, and even coach them to bring to life their own amazing creations.
And, I am curious…
How did your sewing journey start? And where do you want to go next?
Leave a comment or email me privately, I can’t wait to hear your story :)
Till then,
Happy Stitching!
